I told Sherry I'd really like to have a REALLY nice red male, and look who came to live here at Curio!! This is Oakley, and he's a pistol! He is a very clear red with full Irish markings, and one of the softest faces I've seen on a red IG.
He moved right in with our kids, and hasn't missed a beat. We have been excited about this youngster since the night we took him out of the crate and held him for the first time.
Oakley made his ring debut on October 4, 2008 at the Toy Dog Club of Puget Sound Specialty show, under breeder/judge Charles C. Scott (Evergreen IGs). Mr. Scott liked our boy well enough to award him Best of Breed over 5 VERY nice Specials, including at least one Group placing Champion, for his first points!!! This gave our handsome redhead a FIVE POINT MAJOR at his very first show, capably handled by Steve!!!
On Sunday, October 5 (second day of the TDCoPS Specialties), Oakley repeated his WD/BoW under breeder/judge Tim Catterson for another two points. Two shows, and halfway there!!!
Continuing his quest towards that AKC title, on November 15, Oakley picked up a second five point Major win under William Dolan. On December 7, he finished his title with a third major win under Norm Patton. Start to finish in 8 shows. Not bad...not bad at ALL!!!
