A Dog Well Remembered.. Losing a dog is never easy, whether they live to be old, or leave us all too soon. We can be prepared, if we are allowed to know of the impending death of a loved one, be they human or animal...yet we will seldom if ever be "ready". Over the years, we have loved and lost many dogs. Some have grown old and left us with a lifetime of happy memories. Others have left us before we even got the chance to know them. All of them have a special place in our hearts, and no matter how many dogs find their way into our lives and hearts, there is no way to take the place of those that have gone before. It doesn't get easier, and their passing always takes a small piece of my heart with them when they go...just as they leave a piece of theirs with me. This is my tribute to just a handful of the companions that have gone to the bridge to wait for me. Each day that passes brings me closer to the time we will all be together again. Until then...I miss you all so very much...
