THE CURIO GIRLS

of the PAST

Champion Zebec Passionella (1988-2000)
My lovely foundation bitch.  From a litter of four Champions.   Nella
finished quickly, and became a Top Producer in her own right,
with 8 Champions and several more pointed get to her credit.
Nella died in my arms at the age of 12...and she is sorely missed to this day.

Champion Curio Ivory Coast (1989-1999)

Ch Zebec Iron Eyes Cody x Ch Zebec Passionella

My little pied baby girl...camera shy to a fault.  She finished quickly with several Best of Breed wins to her credit, despite hating the show ring. Icy taught me humility with her antics in the ring...from not wanting to stand on the table...to not walking in the ring.  When she behaved, she won...when she didn't...we provided the comic relief.

From a litter of three Champions.

Icy died in my arms at the age of 10...and a piece of my heart died with her.

Champion Curio Savannah d'Salswift (1989-present)

Ch Zebec Iron Eyes Cody x Ch Zebec Passionella

Sally wanted a blue bitch that looked "just like Nella"... so Nella obliged and gave us a real look-alike.  She finished quickly, and went on to impact the Salswift line in a positive way, as the dam of two Champions.

From a litter of three Champions.

Champion Curio Kashmir O'Montrose (1990-?)

CH Salswift's Sucess Story (TP) x CH Zebec Passionella (TP)

Kassie went to Oklahoma, where she finished very quickly.  She was one of two Champions in the first litter of this wonderful combination. Unfortunately, we lost contact with her owner regarding her life after becoming a Champion.

Her litter sister Curio Sahara d'Salswift, although never finished. contributed to the pedigrees of Salswift Italian Greyhounds, by producing two Champions.

Champion Curio Sicily d'Dancelot  (1991- 2005)

Champion Salswift's Sucess Story (TP) x Ch Zebec Passionella

From a litter of 4 Champions and finished in a flash, this absolutely gorgeous bitch unfortunately never produced a litter.  Sici was queen until the very end while living with Jackie and Karl Fjeldstad and the Dancelot IGs.  Our sincere sympathies go out to them on the loss of this marvelous little girl.

CH Bo Bett's Tommy Topaz x Ch Sweetfire Runny Babbit d'Silaos

Bug...she was so tiny...barely 13".  I bred her once, and got one beautiful bitch puppy from an emergency C-section.  She is pictured here in her "retirement" home with one of Icy's sons (background) and two other buddies.

Anthony's Tassa  d'Oro  (1999-present) (Pointed)

Ch Silao's Annihilator d'Anthony x Ch Sweetfire's Mocha d'Anthony

We decided not to incorporate Tess in our breeding program.  She now lives with a wonderful family, and is busy taking care of them.

Anthony's Manhattan   (1999-?) (Pointed)

Ch KC's Song of the South (TP) x Ch Anthony's Caviar Dreams

Greta's show career was cut short when she had to be spayed following a C-section.  We placed her with a wonderful couple who love her immensely.  Greta went missing on May 20, 2006 while she and her owners were visiting in Eastern Washington.  Our hopes and prayers are that she either finds her way safely home, or has found shelter and love with another family.  We are just devastated over this, and our hearts are with her owners during this ordeal.  As of October, 2007, there have been absolutely no sightings of our little red girl, and no reports from vets in the area she disappeared in of anyone with a new red IG.  Although a small flicker of hope burns in my heart, my mind realizes that Greta is most likely gone forever.  Sleep softly baby...

Dani's show career was cut short when she suffered an eye injury as a youngster, which left her blind in one eye.  This injury was first (mis)diagnosed as Horner's Syndrome. (click on this link to learn more about this condition)  She later suffered a severe leg break that left her with a "bum" foreleg.  She has NO idea that she's not perfect in every way.

We searched our consciences very thoroughly before deciding to spay her and place her in a pet home, since she is one of the last two bitches sired by CH Salswift's Sebastian d'Anthony, and is a litter sister to the multiple Group Winning CH Salswift The Red Baron Lodel, and CH Kimson's Exotic Dancer D'Salswift.  We finally decided that because of her extremely small stature, we didn't want to risk her health by breeding her.  She is now living with a wonderful family who thinks she's perfect in every way too!

We thought we should probably include a photo of CH Anthony's Blu Chalcedony.  Sidney was never owned by CURIO, but she has had such a tremendous impact on our current breeding program, it just wouldn't be fitting not to include her.  She is the dam of three of our dogs, and the granddam of one other.
