LACEY CURIO 2004-2006
March 25, 2004-October 2006 I am sick at heart. Lacey is gone. Instead of settling into her new home with a breeder/friend of ours, she is on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Lacey scaled a six foot reinforced fence and landed in a turnout run with four whippets. They killed her. She didn't deserve this end. I am angry, but not at her new mom. I am angry at myself for letting her go from where she was safe, although I know that anger isn't rational either. I am angry at the circumstances of her death, and at the unfairness of her life cut short so brutally and suddenly. I will have to seriously consider whether I place an IG in a home with larger sighthounds again. This is the third IG that I personally know that has been mauled to death by larger sighthounds, in homes where every precaution was taken to prevent such accidents, in the past year. My prayers are with her new co owner as she copes with this tragedy. Sleep softly Lacey...the love you gave will never die. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you...
Lacey went to the IGCA Specialty in September 2005! She did us proud, placing fourth in the ribbons in a very nice Futurity class of 6 girls, and third in the ribbons in a lovely 12-18 month class of 8 girls. To view some of the photos taken, click LACEY at the 2005 IGCA National Specialty
