Champion Anthony's Allya d'Willowmere We are proud that this photo is featured on page 22 of Lillian Barber's wonderful book about Italian Greyhounds, The Italian Greyhound, 21st Century
Welcome to the world of the Curio Hounds! We are striving to produce and exhibit exceptional examples of this wonderful breed. Within these pages, you can see dogs that represent our breeding program, both past and present. You will also find information on some of the problems that we've encountered over the years. Yes, as with any breeding program, there have been problems from time to time. There have been times we've had to regroup a bit before continuing down a slightly different path. If you have any questions or comments about anything you see on these pages, please feel free to email us. Check out our Future Plans and Puppies page for information on who we might have available, or what breedings are planned for the near future. We breed infrequently, so we don't always have something available. If we don't have anything available, we are happy to recommend other responsible breeders who may. Jan and Steve are proud members of the Italian Greyhound Club of America. We adhere to the IGCA Breeder's "Code of Ethics", and health screen our dogs for inherited disorders. We are not a kennel, nor do we have kennel facilities. All of our dogs are our house companions. We socialize our puppies from the first days of their lives, so that they are happy, healthy, emotionally stable individuals. While we breed for conformation show dogs, most of our puppies are placed into "pet" homes. While we are excited when our dogs are shown successfully by others as well as ourselves, we believe that the quality of the home is more important than whether or not it ever steps foot into a show ring. We welcome inquiries from people wanting "only a pet", whether we have puppies on the ground or planned. We also welcome inquiries from people that are considering whether an Italian Greyhound might be a good match for them or their lifestyle. When you contact us, please indicate what you are looking for in regards to the Italian Greyhound. We are happy to provide information to those researching the breed. If you are interested in getting an IG from us, we will send you a questionnaire/application to complete and return to us. It is quite extensive, but is one of the first tools in determining if we might have something that would work for you.
Enjoy your visit! Jan and Steve... and the Curio gang Puppies on parade.........
